Caffè espresso or espresso (never pronounced “ex-presso”!) is a concentrated coffee beverage brewed by forcing steam or hot water under pressure through finely ground coffee.

Espresso consists of 4 Key Components:
1. The Beans: Some vendors use one particular bean as their espresso. Connoisseurs use a blend of beans which is carefully crafted to enhance the espressos flavor as it's being brewed.
2. The Roast: Espresso is usually roasted to a dark degree, saturating the bean in it's own natural oils. Connoisseurs use varying degrees of roast with the various beans involved which are all maximized to enhance the espressos flavor as it's being brewed.
3. The Grind: Espresso is very sensitive to humidity, light and temperature ... therefore it's grind should be adjusted throughout the day to reflect these environmental changes.
4. The Barista: Forcing hot water, at the right temperature, through the proper grind, using the sweetest roast, from the most flavorful blend, for the right amount of time and the proper amount of extraction … depends upon the Barista's art and skill (as well as the equipment).
