Tea for Two?

Do you have tea as one of your beverage offerings?

If you don’t … you definitely should.

I picked up some interesting facts from this new article: http://www.marketingforecast.com/archives/3444/trackback

Packaged Facts estimates the U.S. market for tea sold through retail and foodservice channels at $9 billion in 2009, forecasting a 5% increase in 2010. Steadily rising annual percentage gains are projected through 2014, when growth will reach 10% and sales will exceed $12 billion.

I would also add that consumers love to have loose leaf tea that they can steep at the table themselves.

You should offer them the options of: to-go tea bags, 1 cup infusers, and teapots.

Tea drinkers appreciate the self-ritual of steeping their own tea to their desired strength preferences.

Keep in mind that it’s a wise choice to offer tea so that groups of friends and family can still enjoy your establishment, even if they don’t drink coffee.
